Teacher Bio

About me:  I possess a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Reading Endorsement, a Teacher Leader endorsement and 1 class away from a Library endorsement. I would like to (someday) earn a Doctorate in Education and pursue a career as a college professor. I am live in Greenup, KY and am a Denver Broncos fan!

Teachers: Your child will have TWO teachers! I will teach Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Language Arts. Mrs. Porter will teach and  Science. You will receive a Weekly Syllabus and a homework packet which will have  assignments from BOTH teachers. Other faces in third grade are Grandma Betty, a volunteer from COA, and Donna Grimm, a volunteer from the community.

Behavior Plan: My behavior philosophy is highlighted by Stanton Primary’s 3 Basic Beliefs—Be Positive, Be Respectful and Be a Learner! The “3 B’s” are simple guidelines for appropriate school-wide behavior. I will also use the Class Dojo behavior system, which awards “points” for both positive and negative behaviors.  We are also using PBIS for behavior for the first time this year.  There will be information sent home about that.

Online Support: Be sure to visit NBLSD’s website at www.newboston.k12.oh.us, join the PTO Facebook page and the Class Dojo sytem, and sign up for text alerts to stay up to date on important school and classroom information. You will be receiving more information about Progress Book (online attendance and gradebook) very soon, as well.

Contact Info: If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact me via the school office (456-4637), cell (464-8462), Class Dojo messaging system, or by email [email protected]. Thank you for all that you do to ensure your child is successful!
