Dear Families,
The 2022/2023 school year has officially started! I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child. Your child will be in my 1st grade class this school year. Throughout this school year, each one of my students will be experiencing many new and different avenues in their education.
Let me introduce myself. Hello! My name is Mrs. Megan Johnson and I am happy to be in 1st grade this year! This is my eighteenth year of teaching here at Stanton Primary where I spent 5 years teaching kindergarten, 9 years in second grade, 2 years working with second and third graders, and the past year in first grade. The students and staff here at Stanton Primary are my educational family and what a great one it is. In addition to my Tiger family :), I share the loving responsibility of parenting with my husband, Randy. Together, we are raising a pretty neat 15-year-old girl named Macyn, 2 8-year-old-fur babies named Rosie and Roxie, and a 65 pound fur baby named Midge. My goals for the year are to build relationships with my students and their families and to encourage and foster a lifelong love of learning.
I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom. However, I cannot do this alone: I need your help. We both need to be partners in the learning process. I need each of you to encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their homework assignments and help them study for tests, if necessary.
I look forward to working with your child and your family throughout the school year. Let’s work together to make this a great year for everyone. I will do my best to care for your child and meet their needs as children and learners under my care.
