New Boston Local is proud to be part of the Ohio Appalachian Collaborative (OAC)

http://portal.battelleforkids.org/Ohio/OAC.html?sflang=en

The OAC is a collaboration of 21 Appalachian school districts serving more than 34,000 students,
working to ensure all students have access to a high-quality education and graduate prepared for college and careers.

Powered by Ohio's Race to the Top http://www.ode.state.oh.us/GD/Templates/Pages/ODE/ODELanding.aspx?page=830] grant and supported by Battelle for Kids, the OAC is focusing on strengthening educator effectiveness and college- and career-readiness for all students.

OAC Impact

OAC districts, and their students, are making considerable strides. In the 2011-2012 school year, more OAC districts met Ohio’s highest local report card rating of Excellent with Distinction than other Appalachian-area districts not in the OAC. Also, in 2011-2012 40 percent of OAC districts made more than a year’s worth of academic growth with students, up from 15 percent in the 2010-2011 school year.
